My Travelers Journey: Featuring BI Tech’s Zoe Mazur
Zoe Mazur’s progression from graduate to technology innovator shows how a career at Travelers can open doors to growth, learning and new opportunities.
With a computer science degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Zoe wasn’t sure what direction to take after graduation. A chance connection led her to an interview with Travelers’ Engineering Development Program (EDP) — and ultimately to a career she hadn’t expected but now thrives in.
During her time in the EDP, Zoe worked as a data engineer in a team within Business Insurance (BI) Tech exploring generative AI. After completing the program, she transitioned to the team full time in January 2025 as part of the inaugural class of EDP graduates.
“The EDP gave me the chance to connect with others who were at the same stage in their careers as I was,” Zoe explains. “I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive group—something I never expected to find when beginning my career.”
Starting with just a few engineers, Zoe and her team had the opportunity to build and launch a new application from the ground up. Within a year, the team expanded and successfully brought the product into production—an experience Zoe describes as both challenging and rewarding.
Reflecting on the experience, Zoe says, “I never imagined myself in a role like this, but it’s been a great, fast-paced learning experience.”
Beyond her day-to-day role, Zoe continues to expand her skills and connections by co-leading the EDP Alumni Committee and volunteering with programs like Little Umbrellas Day, (Take your Children to Work Day) and Girls Who Code. These opportunities, she says, have been “highlights of her employee experience” and an important part of her professional development at Travelers.
Zoe’s story reflects the many ways Travelers employees can explore new career paths, learn emerging skills, and grow in a supportive environment—no matter where their careers begin.
